Boston Cares is again teaming up with the Massachusetts Military Heroes Fund to assemble care packages for military from Massachusetts serving overseas and our veterans at home utilizing the services of the New England Center for Homeless Veterans.

Annual 9/11 Day of Remembrance Blood Drive
Event: American Red Cross 9/11 Blood Drive
Date: Sunday, September 11, 2016 from 11am-3pm
Location: Fenway Park, Boston
Deaconess Medical Center and the American Red Cross will join together with community leaders to hold the annual 9/11 Day of Remembrance Blood Drive at Fenway Park. The Red Cross and 9/11 Day have partnered to encourage people across the country to give blood as their way to remember and pay tribute to 9/11 victims and those who answered the call to service in response to the attacks. Family members who would like to give blood will be given VIP treatment.
Attendees can take pictures with the World Series trophies, visit with Wally the Green Monster mascot and enjoy a cup of chowder from Legal Sea Foods and standard Fenway food.

The Massachusetts Military Heroes Fund (MMHF) Care Packages
Date: September 11, 2016
The Massachusetts Military Heroes Fund (MMHF) will again host the area’s largest care package/day-of-service project on the Rose Kennedy Greenway from noon-3 p.m. on 9/11. Families are encouraged to stop by the Greenway (near Faneuil Hall) to help assemble a care package for the troops or the Commonwealth’s homeless veterans. In all, MMHF volunteers, along with state dignitaries including the Governor and Mayor, will assemble 1000 care packages for immediate distribution.
