Annual 9/11 Day of Remembrance Blood Drive

Event: American Red Cross 9/11 Blood Drive

Date: Sunday, September 11, 2017 from 7am-2pm

Location: Fenway Park, Boston

For the 15th year in a row, the Boston Red Sox, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and the American Red Cross will join together with community leaders to hold the annual 9/11 Day of Remembrance Blood Drive at Fenway Park. Along with generous blood donors, we will honor the lives lost, so that others may survive.

As September 11th draws closer, the Red Cross encourages eligible blood donors to give blood as a way to remember and pay tribute to 9/11 victims and those who answered the call to service in response to the attacks. We invite you to join us at our upcoming Day of Remembrance blood drive at historic Fenway Park on Monday, September 11, 2017 from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Many family members of those lost on Sept. 11 partake in this special event because it provides a positive way for people to mark the occasion, while giving back to the community. Hundreds of people show off their Boston Strong pride by rolling up their sleeves to help hospital patients in need. We have blood donors who are first responders, members of the military, students, parents, blood recipients and members of the media.

Attendees can take pictures with the World Series trophies and enjoy a cup of chowder, courtesy of Legal Sea Foods.

If your schedule allows, we hope that you will attend this very special event. Please RSVP to Alyson Barraza at aly.barraza@redcross.org or (781) 366-4635 by Monday, September 4.
