Faith R. Arter, President; Chair of Executive Committee President, Arter Financial Strategies
As the Founder and President of Arter Financial Strategies, Faith Arter has been providing individuals and businesses with quality insurance, investment, and financial planning services since 1983. A graduate of Cornell University, she has earned both the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations. Ms. Arter is a qualifying and life member of the Million Dollar Roundtable and Court of the Table, which recognizes the top 1% of insurance agents in the world based on their level of sales. Ms. Arter has been a member of the Massachusetts 9/11 Fund Board of Directors from its inception in December of 2001 and has served in a variety of positions with the fund, including President. She currently also serves on the Executive and Strategic Planning Committees.
Eric A. Lowrey, First Vice President, Chair of Audit Committee
Eric Lowrey joined US Trust, a private bank, as Managing Director of Global Wealth and Investment Management in 2012. Eric works extensively with families whose investment management needs are multifaceted. He specializes in complex generational wealth transfer matters and coordinates solutions for clients’ estate tax concerns. He also handles institutional charitable endowments and private foundations through a dedicated group at US Trust. From 1994 to 2012, Eric was with Brown Brothers Harriman where in 2006 he became a Senior Vice President in the Wealth Management department. Prior to assuming that role, his responsibilities included founding BBH’s Global Retirement Solutions department and heading the firm’s Legal Administration department. Eric was a Business Analyst at Dun & Bradstreet for four years before he joined BBH. He received a B.S. degree from Lehigh University and an M.B.A. from Boston University. Eric serves as President of the Pinewood Lutheran Church in Burlington, MA and is a member of the Boston Estate Planning Council in Boston, MA. He has a passion for charitable organizations and has worked with many over the years. Along with serving on our board since 2002 and currently holding the office of President, Eric is on the Board of Trustees of the Museum of Russian Icons in Clinton, MA and the American Textile History Museum in Lowell, MA.
Beth Chambers, Second Vice President, Member of Educational Committee
Beth Chambers, MSW, is the director of Catholic Charities South in Brockton, a regional office of Catholic Charities Boston. She was one of five Catholic Charities social workers who met with our 9/11 families almost immediately after the tragedy. Throughout the years, Beth has worked with the families at nearly every event and joined the Mass 9/11 Fund on trips to the 9/11 Museum in New York. In 2014, she was the guest speaker at the 9/11 Commemoration at the State House. Since 2016 she has been the Family Advisory Committee’s representative to the Board of Directors.
John H. Curtis, Treasurer, Chair of the Finance Committee Retired President & CEO – Network Engines, Inc.
Mr. Curtis retired from Network Engines in 2006 after serving as President and CEO from 2001 to 2006. Previously, he was Vice President of Worldwide Sales with Artel, Inc. and earlier as Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Intellution, Inc. and for Stratus Computer. Mr. Curtis has served in the United States Air Force and holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Babson College. Mr. Curtis joined the Board of Directors in November, 2003. He served as interim Executive Director in 2006 and has also served as Chair of the Board, Vice President of the Board and Chair of the Audit Committee. He currently also serves on the Executive, Finance Nominating and Memorial Committees.
Peg Hatch, Clerk of Corporation & Chair of Nomination Committee
Margaret Hatch was elected to the Board in 2009, and serves on the Nomination Committee. She recently retired after a 30 year career with American Airlines working as a Flight Attendant/Pursar. Together with her late husband John Ogonowski, they established White Gate Farm in 1989. It is a thriving 150 acre hay and fruit farm in Dracut, MA. She has raised three daughters while volunteering time at their schools and for the American Cancer Society and Cor Unum in Lawrence, MA.

Patrick Bavis, Director of operation at Professional Electric.
I have worked in the electric field for over 35 years. I am presently the director of operations for one of the largest electrical open shops in New England. I am President of the Mark Bavis Leadership Foundation. The foundation has been fortunate enough to be able to award high school seniors scholarship money for the past 16 years. We currently have given out over 108 scholarships. I am married to my wife Patrice and have a teenage daughter Caroline.
